Lorilea Buerkett has represented educational, medical and charitable institutions as well as state and local governmental agencies in all aspects of employment and labor law and litigation. She has written countless employee manuals and other employment policies, negotiated dozens of contracts with various unions and problem-solved for management on a day-to-day basis for over 20 years. She has appeared before the state and federal trial and appellate courts, arguing before the Illinois Supreme Court, the Illinois Appellate Courts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. In addition, she has appeared before many administrative boards and agencies, including the federal Department of Labor, the Illinois Labor Relations Board, the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board, the Illinois Department of Employment Security, the Illinois Department of Human Rights and the Illinois Human Rights Commission, and various local administrative agencies. She is a frequent speaker on the topics of labor and employment law for lawyers and clients alike.
