Jeffery Wilday joined Brown, Hay & Stephens as an associate attorney in 1977 and became a Partner in 1982. Since 2000, he has served as the firm’s Managing Partner. Advising the firm’s public and private sector clients on a wide variety of employment matters represents a significant portion of his practice. Much of this work consists of counseling clients on day-to-day operational issues which, in addition to matters related to FMLA, ADA, unemployment and discrimination claims, also include wage and hour issues, employee discipline and termination issues. In addition, he has over 35 years of experience in representing firm clients in the defense of claims filed with the Illinois Department of Human Rights, the Illinois Human Rights Commission, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”) and the Illinois Department of Employment Security (“IDES”). Mr. Wilday also practices in the areas of business and pension-related law.
