Attorney Profiles

Ms. Schmidt brings an extensive family law and litigation practice to Brown, Hay & Stephens.  Ms. Schmidt graduated magna cum laude from Oral Roberts University and attained her juris doctor with honors from the University of Tulsa. A member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the American Bar Association, she is past president of the Sangamon County Bar Association.  Her concentration is in family law, and she is a certified child's representative as well as a Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

Ms. Schmidt is named as one of the Top 10 female attorneys in downstate Illinois by Leading Lawyers.  In addition to her experience in all areas of family law, Ms. Schmidt has extensive experience in complex dissolution matters, including those involving business valuations and family farm corporations, as well as in the drafting and enforcement of premarital agreements.
